For my second AS brief I was told to create a product which will be used as a storage container within a kitchen.

This is my first initial design  for a herb rack.

I wanted to create a design that was completely different and sharp. Function was not my main focus. Due to this my client and I thought it to be unappropriated.

This is my second initial design. It is designed to be storage for dry food.  I wanted to focus more on a functional minimal theme with some variety. This was the design I developed further. 

Here is the final model. It holds sugar and is able to move up and down depending on the weight of its content due to a counterweight system. I went with a style based upon clocks. This is due to its location being set within a house with a large number of clocks and movements with this style.

-Sometimes beauty comes not from looks but from function. Something can function so well it gives an amount of satisfaction. An engine is greasy and unappealing but its function gives it a uniqueness and aesthetic .
