Here overall I have completed the form however I may wish to put it on a white floor to give some contrast.

Here I have built up one side and am now going over again with the shrink wrap to unify the form and mold all the pipes into one.

I had a go at filling voids with video tape towards the bottom. I felt this merged the floor and the form better in small amounts. Too much became too shiny.

Another roll of shrink wrap was needed however at a much less cost than tape.

Here you can see the pipes being made before being put on the structure.

Starting with a less dense cross structure which I then fill out with pipes.

Building more and more pipes. I build the density and forms filling more and more space.

Overall i felt that I could not fill the cube in time. I decided to take the bold move and move the work outside the cube into an open space. this gave me the freedom of not being required to fill the large space and gave me the ability to move out in space. In hind sight i also felt the cube was far to dominant.

I continue to move out. first building a form. A small structure. Then filling it with smaller more complex pipes. I have also sped up a bit. cutting and forming the wire and then wrapping it before i put it on the structure is alot quicker than as you have seen before building the structure then wrapping it.

Here i have made a frame and then filled it with as much twisting pipes and forms. This will hopefully lead to a very dense and flashed out work.

With the heat gun i try to leave stringy parts that look like ligaments. this again adds to the organic oily drippy nature and overall i am far more happy with the texture of the wrap.

Here I am building up the wrap over the tubes to build as much density as i can with just over three weeks left now however the filling of the cube seems impossible so i may have to think of a different method for this.

Here you can see the difference visually between the tape and the wrap. For me the wrap had much more of an organic feel to it. This ties in the human influence well and looks far more muscular and like flesh. this works well as a “human product” and gives a nice contrast to its industrial structure

As tape was proving a costly resource due to its lack in quantity on a roll. Another attempt and test was made towards shrink wrap. the black wrap could be applied in a large roll then heat gunned on shrinking to the form. this worked alot better for coverage and was alot cheaper.

Here I wanted to build height in the middle so a large wire frame was made in order to build up

I continue to expand out in the cube. I needed to cover as much ground as I could as time was catching up and i wanted to fill more of the cube as the density was lacking at the moment.

Here you can see the white forms to where i attempted to use the paper as a cladding. You can make out the wire under the paper which is a bit of a pain.

In attempts to speed up the process i used thick tissue paper dipped in a mixture of water and pva as a cover. this was not limited to strips like the tape so could cover an area quicker. However it did not bond well to the wire frame and multiple layers were needed. I would also need to paint the paper aswell. it also took from the oil and an chaotic looks which in the end i did not want so I chose not to use any more.

I am using alot tape at the moment yet it is giving a dark and organic forms which i like the look of however the tape also takes alot of time. So i may need to find a better method for this. also i have not covered as much of the cube as i have wanted by this point. The tape does take a long time to cover with individual strips.

By creating more tubes i am building up the structure around the cube. trying to be limited by it but also buldge and expand out of it.

Work starts as i build inside the cube. the large space will hopefully form as a restrictive space which will contain the work and hold order over the chaos. ive started using shiny black tape as a cover. this will unify the form and give the dark oil like texture ive wanted. the tape must wrap all the way round in order to stick properly.  this can be a bit annoying. i have also finished a small cube area however i have gotten through 4 rolls of tape already. this may be a problem.

Smaller wire tubes are formed. this will hopefully give a clustered and complex aesthetics if built up in a dense and irrational way. This is based upon initial designs to start building a form inside a space or cube

First starting with the wire mesh frame i am building a tube. this tube will server as a stat point to build off from and a structure to tie to at start. This gives me room to expand.
